Jennifer Banning will present
“Clues in Clothing: Dating Old Family Photos”

Jennifer Frank Banning, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Illinois State University where she teaches fashion history and serves as co-director of the Lois Jett Historic Costume Collection. She is from Washington, IL, a 1991 graduate of Washington Community High School.

Jennifer enjoys teaching her students how to apply their knowledge of historic fashion though projects such as dating 19th century photos based on garments shown.  Her research interests include recycled commodity bags (feed sacks) and rural dress.
